Wine Club Reviews Exclusive Deal! Get a bonus bottle of 93pt Cabernet Sauvignon, a free artist-designed gift box, free gift bags, and a free printed gift notice on all gifts of 3 months or longer! Get this exclusive deal!

Overview: California is home to some of the world's best wine regions and wineries, many of which are boutique wineries (wine jargon for small wineries with little-to-no distribution). This wine of the month club is a great way to get introduced to what California wine has to offer at reasonable prices. This wine club makes an excellent gift.

What We Love: Consistency. We've been receiving their shipments for months and we've never had a wine we didn't like. You can't really ask for more than that from a wine club.

Could Be Better: We don't have any suggestions for what to improve within the Gold Series wine club. Yay!

Red Wine Club

All-Around Rating:

Limited Time Offer
Free shipping! Exclusive free shipping offer is good one per customer and includes all items in your order. Use promo code WCR_REWARD at checkout. Offer good until Dec 31, 2017.

Overview: Grapeseed Wine started out as a way to have customers help fund one-time wine productions by acclaimed winemakers, but now it's a red wine club, too. Get preferred pricing on all of their new releases and enjoy helping stellar winemakers stretch their winemaking creativity.

What We Love: We're big fans of any group that has exclusive wines because they produced them (as opposed to buying out a full production of someone else's wine)

Could Be Better: We'd like to see more options available, particularly for gifting, but also for delivery frequency. We're looking forward to the next release of Grapeseed wines to augment the selection.

Free Gifts with Purchase!
Bamboo wine accessory kit (foil cutter, corkscrew, and bottle stopper). No coupon necessary.

Overview: The Wine Tasting Network offers two entry-level wine clubs, this is the one that's delivered quarterly. For better-quality wines from a wine club which rewards you with better savings the more you spend, this is a great wine club to join.

What We Love: We love when wine clubs really reward their members with additional value, and this club is chock full of it. In particular, they have excellent "buy more save more" pricing, and free shipping on all club shipments.

Could Be Better: Greater transparency around how the wines are sourced would be helpful. We'd also like to see a history of past shipments online.

Overview: This is the entry-level wine club offered by Monthly Clubs and it features interesting selections from regions in France, Italy, South America, Australia, and more. We've received dozens of shipments from this wine club and the selections are consistently good quality and palate-friendly. This is a great wine club to give as a gift to someone who's just starting to learn about wine or could use a treat from you every month.

What We Love: Unprecedentedly fantastic flexibility in billing, shipping, customization, and what type of goodies to get.

Could Be Better: The wine club? It's great. The website? A little hard to use. If you're heading over there, please be patient. The effort is worth it!

Limited Time Offer
Introductory offer: $69.99 for 12 bottles of wine! Also choose between free bonus gifts: 3 bottles of wine or a deluxe, lever-action corkscrew.

Overview: The WSJWine club was one of the first 12-bottle case clubs offered up as a way to get your quarterly wine fix at value-focused prices. Over the years we've gone back and forth one whether or not they deliver a good value, but for some time we've thought their $12 wine selections really can't be beat for value, especially as prices keep rising at the grocery store. Take advantage of their introductory offer of just $69.99 for a case, but be warned, you are signing up for recurring shipments at a much higher price.

What We Love: They have one of the best line-ups of introductory offers for wine clubs we've seen.

Could Be Better: A more customized selection geared toward the Wall Street Journal's specific audience.

WineClubReviews Exclusive! Save 50% on your first shipment when enrolling in an ongoing subscription of the International Series. Use coupon code WCRHALF

Overview: This wine club features wines from Oregon and Washington — two U.S. award-winning wine regions. Using the same methods and ideas of wine selection as they've used for years in California, The California Wine Club has translated their vision to an Pacific Northwest region. Get an in-depth look at these Burgundian and Bordeaux-style regions with all of the perks of being a member of The California Wine Club.

What We Love: The California Wine Club has an excellent reputation and they've been in business a long time. We like that it's a family business supporting other family businesses.

Could Be Better: We have very little we feel The California Wine Club could do to improve. The prices sometimes feel a bit high, but when you factor in all of the benefits of membership, including a satisfaction guarantee, we still feel like you get what you pay for here.

Extreme Wine Club
by WineTasting.com
All-Around Rating:

Limited Time Offer

Overview: This is the luxury-level wine of the month club from The Wine Tasting Network. Their focus is cellarworthy wines representing California's (usually Napa) finest red wines. This wine club features wines usually only available directly through the wineries themselves and that are produced in very small quantities.

What We Love: They have one of the best line-ups of introductory offers for wine clubs we've seen.

Could Be Better: We'd love to see an option for "drink now" wines that don't need to be laid down in the cellar for another 5-15 years. Maybe one of each in each shipment. Greater transparency around how the wines are sourced would also be helpful and we'd like to see a history of past shipments online.

Buying for yourself? Get your first shipment for $9.98 and a bonus bottle for 1 penny more!

Overview: From the original Wine of the Month Club (really, they're the first!) you get wine delivered every month at surprisingly low prices. The proprietor drives a hard bargain and passes those deals onto his customers. The Limited Series is their premium-level wine club and it's a nice choice when you're looking for "better" wines but still pinching your pennies. It also makes a really nice gift.

What We Love: We love that Paul streams his wine-tasting sessions live over the Internet so we can see what he's tasting and how much he's rejected.

Could Be Better: No recommendations for improvement here. This wine club sets the bar high as a standard for all other wine clubs.
