Their $14 international wine selections typically offer good value, especially as prices keep rising at the grocery store. Take advantage of their introductory offer of just $69.99 for a case, but be warned, you are signing up for recurring shipments at a much higher price.

What We Love: They have one of the best line-ups of introductory offers for wine clubs we've seen.

Could Be Better: A more customized selection geared toward the Wall Street Journal's specific audience.

Overview: If you're a Champagne purist, this Champagne club isn't for you, but if you love bubbly wines and want to experience what's available from all parts of the world, this is a great sparkling wine club for you! We love that each shipment contains a budget-friendly selection like Prosecco, a mid-range selection like a California sparkling wine, and a true Champagne for a special occasion.

What We Love: So much fun to have Sparkling Wine & Champagne on hand whenever an occasion pops up... glad to see this solid offering with a 12-bottle option

Could Be Better: We'd always like to know which wines have been in recent shipments. Their transparency could be better.

Overview: This is the premium-level wine club from Vinesse. Over the years we've seen the quality-to-price ratio go from incredible to disappointing and everywhere in between. If you want a wine of the month club that delivers better quality wines that you can't easily find, but want the protection of a rock-solid satisfaction guarantee, this is a good choice.

What We Love: We've been super impressed with the quality and value of nearly every wine we've received from the Elevant Society wine club. We think you will be, too.

Could Be Better: We'd like to see a little less of the superlatives... "super-premium" wines don't carry a $35 price tag. Regardless, these are definitely premium wines worth their price.

The proprietor drives a hard bargain and passes those deals onto his customers. This Classic Series is their entry-level wine club and it's perfect for people who aren't sure if they're "wine club people" and as a gift to a young wine-lover just starting to explore.

What We Love: There are people who have been members of this wine club for over 20 years! The average wine club's membership length is 4 months.

Could Be Better: No recommendations for improvement here.

Like their other wine clubs, we feel they delivery good-quality wines at fair prices, but the selections we've received are available at grocery stores, so joining this wine club is more about convenience than anything else.

What We Love: WineExpress is the retail arm of Wine Enthusiast Magazine. Who better to select the best wines for a wine of the month club than a company that rates wine?

Could Be Better: We'd like to see some updated "Previous Selections" on each of the wine clubs. The ones listed are a little out of date.

What We Love: WineExpress is the retail arm of Wine Enthusiast Magazine. Who better to select the best wines for a wine of the month club than a company that rates wine?

Could Be Better: We'd love to see the normal red-and-white mix offered, as well as a whites-only California wine club. There are some KILLER white wines coming out of California at great value.

Overview: The Macy's Wine Cellar subscription, is a great way to get affordable wine delivered to your home or office on a quarterly basis. A wide selection of wine regions and grape varieties introduce you to wines from around the world.

What We Love: An affordable wine subscription with a top-notch satisfaction guarantee (theirs, not ours).

Could Be Better: We'd really like to see a gift option for this wine club.

Overview: We've gone back and forth on Vinesse over the years, but we recently received several shipments from them, including the Cabernet Sauvignon club, and they've really stepped up their game. If you're interested in more than just California Cabernet and you don't want to spend a ton of money on it, we really recommend this Cabernet Sauvignon wine club. Plus, you get Vinesse's rock solid satisfaction guarantee for every bottle, taking all of the risk out of joining a wine club.

What We Love: Cabernet is a great everyday wine when it's affordable, so these prices make us want to drink Cab every day

Could Be Better: We'd always like to know which wines have been in recent shipments. Their transparency could be better.

Overview: It's been a while since we tried the California wine club from Vinesse, and at last check it left us disappointed. We've received a number of their other wine club's shipments recently and were quite impressed with how far the quality has come since they hired a new wine buyer. It's probably time for us to try the California Treasures club again, but in the mean time, we don't recommend it.

What We Love: California wines can get pricey because real estate is so expensive here, but Vinesse finds great bargains to represent California
