A rare Chardonnay of the month club, this is an excellent choice for anyone who prefers Chardonnay as the wines all come from California's Central Coast. Edna Valley and Santa Barbara County are some of California's premium Chardonnay-growing regions and are included among the Chardonnays which ship with this club. Please note: we have never received a shipment from this wine club.
Chardonnay is the most widely planted grape in the world and doesn't always get the love it deserves. While some producers choose to oak up their Chardonnay, others rely on malolactic fermentation to create a buttery flavor profile. We like the creamy, fruity Chardonnays that come from this wine region.
For wine clubs that aren't widely reviewed, we like to see a few specific features that let us know they take their wine selection seriously. A history of the last few shipments would be helpful, as would a satisfaction guarantee.
Chardonnay Wine Club membership costs $43.33 for 2 bottles of wine. Free shipping plus sales tax where applicable. The price per bottle, with shipping, is $21.67.
Shipments are sent monthly, bimonthly, or quarterly. Pre-pay for a fixed number of months, as a gift or for yourself.
There aren’t many wine clubs focusing on just one varietal (or even style of wine), much less white-wine only wine clubs out there. If you’re a Chardonnay-lover, and in particular a California Central Coast Chardonnay lover (hey, that’s the 4Cs!) then this is a great wine club selection for you. Other than doing a ton of your own research and ordering from several different websites we can’t think of a more convenient way to keep yourself stocked on high-quality Chardonnays of all stripes from the Central Coast.
As with all wine clubs offering ongoing subscriptions with shipping and handling costs built in, we wish they wouldn’t. It’s appropriate for pre-paid subscriptions (especially for gifts) but when we’re getting regular wine shipments we’d prefer to know how much of what we’re paying for is wine and how much is shipping and packaging expenses.

At WineClubReviews.net we take an objective approach to our star ratings system. Our written reviews are very much subjective, based on our 10+ years of wine club review experience and our own ideas about what good wine and good value mean. The star ratings are based on 11 attributes that we feel define what a wine club should be. Here is how Firstleaf Wine Club stacks up on these traits.
