Diamond Wine Club Review

All-Around Wine Club Rating: 3.175

Quirky local wine shop delivering a high-powered selection of ultra-premium cult-status wines and hard-to-find gems.

What We Like

A unique selection of mostly red wines with occasional champagnes to spice things up a bit.

Name-dropping doesn't impress, especially when Silver Oak and Opus One are the names being dropped. We'd like to see some cult wines in this list.

In a world filled with very few ultra-premium wine clubs, we're excited to see this one come along.

The WineGlobe's brick-and-mortar store is located in the San Francisco Bay Area (on the peninsula) and this is a particularly fine-wine centric community. Proximity to Napa and oodles of Silicon Valley dough have made Palo Alto, Menlo Park, and Atherton the epicenter of California wine consumption. The WineGlobe is accustomed to picky customers who expect only the finest. This means when it comes to premium wines, they know what they're doing and they choose carefully.

Yay for you!

That said, we've given this wine club a pretty low rating because their wine club shipment manager doesn't have any kind of formal wine education and they don't have an allocation for reorders. If we'd seen a list of their recent shipments we might up their ratings to reflect that the club is "worth the price."
