Red Wine Club Gifts

Know a red wine lover? You’re not alone! But did you know that there are two types of red wine lovers (according to moi)? The first group will drink any wine as long as it’s red and often gives little thought to what’s really in the glass. The second group is very particular about the red wines they like and only want to drink their favorites.

What kind of red wine lover are you shopping for? If they’re in the first group of "anything as long as it’s red" then I recommend a red wine gift basket or a red wine sampler. If they’re particular about what they like, start with Napa Valley red wine, Bordeaux red wine, and Italian red wine.

Hot tip: red wines in magnums make great gifts because wine ages more slowly in bigger bottles. Buy an aged red wine in magnum for drinking now or a younger one they can stash in their cellar for years from now.

Wine Clubs are my favorite kind of wine gift. You give your favorite wine lover a way to discover new wines at no cost to them, and since the gift is recurring, they get to experience the joy of discovery over and over.

Here are a couple of helpful resources: my Best Wine Club Gifts list and my How to Choose a Wine Club Gift guide.

Wine Club Gifts come in all shapes and sizes. You can choose any combination of the following to get a gift that fits your budget: number of shipments they'll receive (most popular are 3 monthly shipments and 4 quarterly shipments), number of bottles per shipment, and what kind of wine is in the gift.

There are wine club gifts for red wine lovers, white wine lovers, Organic and Natural wine lovers, and Champagne lovers.

FYI: I find great wine deals so you don’t have to. To keep me on the hunt, I earn a commission when you buy wine based on my recommendations.
